The Mount Sinai Hospital Ecosystem Xavier Sennon Western Governors University Mount Sinai Hospital Ecosystem In the United States there are over 5000 health care facilities, and with such a large selection to choose from, the task of selecting an institution to write a research paper on can be challenging. To avoid this pitfall, the decision was made to select a Health care facility that was not only geographically convenient, but also an intuition that I represent. As an employee of Mount Sinai Hospital of New York, NY, the decision came natural to select this Health Care facility. The Mount Sinai Hospital is currently the largest Health care institution in the North-East, with 1,171 beds and 2,510 Physicians. The app was developed by a resident at the hospital who saw the necessity to improve communication, and coordination between providers. The mobile app named Cureatr, connects providers amongst multiple platforms and institutions. The capability providers have to communicate in a group chat environment across multiple healthcare intuitions lends for seamless data sharing outside the EMR environment. Prior to the use of Cureatr, there was no centralizing tool for health care providers to communicate in a group setting. The delivery health care was improved greatly as a result of health informatics implementation of Cureatr. The future of the health care industry seems very promising, from the implementation of EMRs and EHS, to advancements in communication and medical discoveries. Death of a Salesman on a live Theatre Free Essays
Alejandro Ricardo Reaction Paper THE2000 Death of a Salesman To watch Death of a Salesman on a live Theatre was like seeing a reflection of the book with its characters coming to life. The incredible cast made sure to put personal life aside to perform at their peak, and the lighting crew set the mood of the story precisely right for the character. The play was adequate not good, because of the theater. We will write a custom essay sample on Death of a Salesman on a live Theatre or any similar topic only for you Order Now The cast made a few miniscule mistake during the play, but nothing to major that could interfere with the play itself. The audience was surprisingly upstanding with no major interruption during the play, but it was seen that people could come in even when the doors were close it was an embarrassment to the cast but they were professional and did their best. The characters are what made it interesting for me, during the play it looks like there having trouble getting change, because of the theater itââ¬â¢s an open space on the middle of the room the characters where the changing outside little far away from the actual stage. Related essay: ââ¬Å"Realism and Expressionism in Death of a Salesmanâ⬠The characters got the right amount of attention they deserved, because they were clear and really straight forward introducing their character. The cast was really well built with the right amount of racial, cultural, and different personality creating for a balance, because seeing the audience response wright to each act became clearer that if this was a one culture and race cast for Death of a Salesman the mood might have been in favor of that specific ethnic attraction instead of all ethnicities. All of the cast including costume design, produce, technical director, and the running crew/costumes etc. ade it all possible for the character to focus on their line and expression witch was amazing to see live is hilarious and sad in my opinion, because you have a group of college cast student acting out Death of a Salesman knowing how painful it must off been for this family having a drunk dad with adultery in his pocket and a son that can be successful but chooses not to, and seeing their mom take all their dad foolishly consume liquor abuse and still continue partnership. This cast is made from a cast age 18- 25 year ld, because of this itââ¬â¢s hilarious and sad to think while watching the show that this cast has to go into a dark place in order to stimulate their emotional state of mine believing that person they are is their character. The play is constantly reminding us we are all human an emotional nonconductive to normal. What I am implying is Biff and Willy although brother they have different mindset, Biff is the smart one to Willy but Willy has gone to business try and fail but try unlike Biff who is assume to become rich if he so wish he spend his time in farms. Some actor came really undress in one of the scene but it play the part with his historical loud voice and funny body movement. And over all a good play I reflated myself with the character Biff, someone who is a brilliant individual, but missing the inspiration to do only having people telling you can do it. My theatrical aspect is the play was well compost and acted with a good lighting show. How to cite Death of a Salesman on a live Theatre, Essay examples

Edward Hopper essays
Edward Hopper essays Edward Hopper was a painter, who depicted life in America in the 1920's, and the influence of the events of those times on people. Hopper inspired other artists, after his time, to paint in his style. The paintings he did showed the reaction of americans to events happening in the 1920s. By looking at his work, one can feel the emotions that people felt during these years, and the atmosphere in America all together. Hopper was a ground breaking artist of his time, and created new aspects in art, while influencing others. Edward Hopper was able to depict the scenes of the times, because he had an extreme good background in painting and drawing. He got involved with art as a child, and then attended the New York School of Art, from the years 1900 to 1906, while being trained by Robert Henri, one of the fathers of American Realism - a man whom he later described as 'the most influential teacher I had' (qtd.in Lucie-Smith 67) . From the years 1913 to the year 1923 he worked as a commercial illustrator to support himself, but it was not his real interest (Craven 435). Between the years 1906 and 1910 he made three trips to Europe, but these seemed to have very little influence on his style (ibiblio.org). After these years, Hopper started to concentrate more on the art that made him gain widespread recognition as an "American Scene painter". These are the works that are most known, and used to represent life in the US. Though his works were always interpreted in this way, the artist himself claims " I don't think I ever tried to paint the American scene; I'm just trying to paint myself" (qtd.in ibiblio.org). And technically this is exactly what the painter did. All the models used for his paintings were images of himself and his wife Jo (Beckett 136). He believed that people in the 1920s acted as if clones, and therefore the same image, of himself as the typical american, were used in the paintings. The perfectly proportionate...

Tools for Drawing Simple Floor Plans
Tools for Drawing Simple Floor Plans Sometimes all a homeowner needs is a simple floor plan to help with remodeling and decorating projects. You might think that you could find some easy tools on the web, but first youll have to wade through all of the software intended for 3D design. These programs are overkill for a floor plan. Fortunately, there are a variety of easy-to-use online tools to help draw simple floor plans. Determine Your Needs Why do you want to draw a floor plan? A landlord may want to show the setup of an apartment to a prospective tenant. A realtor may use a floor plan to sell a property. A homeowner may draw a floor plan to better formulate remodeling ideas or to decide where to place furniture. In all of these cases, a floor plan is used for communication- to visually express the use of space. Dont think that a floor plan will let you build a house or make extensive remodeling decisions. A floor plan sketch can communicate spatial ideas from a homeowner to a contractor, but the person doing the construction is the one who knows where the bearing walls and shear walls are located. Floor plans suggest general ideas, not detailed specifications. Use the Right Tool A good home design software program will let you create some pretty fancy renderings with elevation drawings and 3D views. But what if you only require a general idea of where the walls and windows go? In that case, you dont really need high-powered software just to draw these shapes and lines. Using inexpensive (or free) apps and online tools, you can whip together a simple floor plan- the digital equivalent of a napkin sketch- and share your plan on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networks. Some tools will even let you collaborate with family and friends, providing an online page that everyone can edit. Mobile Apps for Drawing Floor Plans You wont need a computer to draw floor plans if you have a smartphone or tablet. A few of the most popular floor plan applications work on mobile devices. Browse the applications store for your device, and youll find a variety of options: RoomScan by Locometric would be fun to use even if you didnt need to draw a floor plan. Simply hold your iPhone or iPad up to an existing wall, wait for the beep, and calculations are made using the GPS and gyroscope functions. Like all apps, RoomScan is an evolving work-in-progress, moving toward its marketing goal of being The App That Draws Floor Plans By Itself.MagicPlan uses the camera and gyroscope functions of your mobile device to turn a 3D room into a 2D floor plan. The app also includes a tool to help you estimate the costs and materials for a project.Stanley Smart Connect, from Stanley Black Decker, is one of the first mobile apps by a major manufacturer. The Bluetooth-enabled program allows you to take measurements and design room plans using your smartphone. Online Tools for Drawing Floor Plans If youd rather work on a computer, the possibilities are almost limitless. Drawing floor plans on a big screen can make it easier to fiddle with the design. Online tools will let you create scale drawings to envision your remodeling and decorating projects- and most of these tools are free: FloorPlanner.com is free and allows users to create and save 2D and 3D designs. Pro and business memberships include additional tools for a fee.Gliffy Floor Plan Creator is a simple tool for drawing 2D floor plans that allows users to move around furniture and decor.SmartDraw is a graphics tool for creating flow charts, graphs, floor plans, and other diagrams.RoomSketcher is made for creating 2D and 3D floor plans. Basic features are free, but you have to pay a fee to use the advanced tools.EZ Blueprint is a simple program for Windows computers that allows users to generate basic floor plans and layouts. Designing on the Cloud Many of todays floor plan programs and applications are cloud-based. Simply, cloud-based means that the floor plan you design is stored on someone elses computer, not your own. When you use a cloud-based tool, you provide details such as your name, email address, and where you live. Never give out information that you feel violates your safety or privacy. Choose tools that youre comfortable with. As you explore cloud-based tools for drawing floor plans, also think about whether youd like to print out a copy of your design. Some cloud-based tools can be viewed online only. If youd like to make copies, look for software or apps that will allow you to download projects onto your own computer.Ã Despite these concerns, theres a lot to love about drawing on the cloud. Cloud-based programs and applications are wonderful for creating designs that can be easily shared. Some tools allow multiple users to work on the same design, so you can ask friends and family to make suggestions and changes.

Wicked Problems Social Policy in America on Equality Essay
Wicked Problems Social Policy in America on Equality - Essay Example They were able to work; educate themselves and rise in society. Social policies do not address the sociological issues, they answer at a very superficial level the end problems dealing with inequality and and not within inequality. Meritocracy and Egalitarism cannot be achieved as it assumes that we are not unique individuals. Three issues we be covered: legacy issues in Elite colleges, Blacks fail in law school and Gay marriages. In concluding a summary will be made, confirming when the government gets involved, social groups suffer. Much argument has been in the press about alumni accepting legacy preferences. Legacy preferences currently is not covered by Affirmative Action but the government is looking to pass legislation under the" The Civil Rights Act of 1866 which preventing discrimination based on ancestry and on race." (Wise 2010) I personally don't think the issue should be addressed at the government level. An alumni child has a 20% more chance of being accepted in his par ent's school. Is this not human nature?(Kahlenberg 2010) Currently in France, it is policy in order to apply for a job, the applicant has the right to omit all information indicating his race, background or religion. If the US were to do the same, then the College applicant still has the SAT scores. A parent, who has come from an Elite college, will have given his child a good background thus the best preparation possible for the SAT. Empirically it is impossible to statistically test, if legacy preference is an indication of acceptance. If Elite colleges were to strictly apply affirmative action, it would be at the detriment of under qualified students. A study done by Standford University found that "33% of black law school graduates in California pass the bar exam on the first try and most never become lawyers". (Kahlenberg 2010)T he question at hand is to prepare black students before they get to University so they are not in the situation to fail. Ã Gay Marriages implies that the institution of marriages is completely eroded. If 1 in 2 children will suffer a divorced marriage, the question is not allowing gay marriages but why is the concept of marriage having degraded to such a deplorable level. (Frum 1997 ) The Social Structure and concept of marriage is the real problem. There is no longer the social structure within the religion which checks and balances each relationship to make sure people and couples stay on the right track. Gay marriages are a sign of society that the institution of marriage is even more insecure. Marriage used to be a means to raise children; to make a life time bond; to continue family legacies. Now it has become "an exercise in radical autonomy". Affirmative Action and marriage do not go hand in hand. Bringing a child into the world assumes that the mother, normally the woman, plays a lower role in the couple as she has given up many of her equalitarian freedoms to raise her family. He proposes to make it harder to divorce; t o teach in school the different roles of the "sexes" and to teach in sociology that it were socially acceptable, Government policy has nothing to do with it. David asks if homosexuals would really want to marry if they knew the complicated social structure it actually involved. It is hard work to stay married and happy. There is not the autonomy or the affirmative action in a marriage. An institution is meant to stand. The family is a sociological structure that has been long part of our society before the 50's. Those, who favor gay marriage, must not have strong marriage themselves. A woman was built to have children and to rear children. Perhaps the word 'marriage' is the issue. In some countries, laws have been passed legalizing the right to live

Teaching Students with Disabilities with the use of technology to Research Paper
Teaching Students with Disabilities with the use of technology to support the learning process - Research Paper Example The paper avails insights on the role that technology plays in promoting the educational needs of students with disabilities. The paper explores the significance of integration of technology into the classroom for students with disabilities and its impact on studentsââ¬â¢ learning processes. The development of technology has assisted students with severe disabilities to overcome a broad range of limitations that constrain classroom participation. Teaching Students with Disabilities with the Use of Technology Introduction The National Centre for Learning Disabilities delineates learning disabilities as genetic and/or neurological disorder that influences the brainââ¬â¢s ability to obtain, process, store, and react to information. Learning disabilities encompass a number of conditions that might influence the acquisition, retention, organization, understanding, or utilization of information. Learning disabilities emanate from impairment in one or more processes associated with pe rception, thought, learning, or memory. Such a disorder can influence a personââ¬â¢s oral language, writing, memory and processing information, organization issues, sensory ability (vision and hearing), reading or computation and problem solving abilities (Quenneville, 2001). An overview of teaching students with disabilities Millions of students across the U.S. ... It is estimated that close to 286 million children with disabilities globally are within the primary school education context. As a result, it can be stated that children with disabilities comprise the worldââ¬â¢s largest and most disadvantaged minority when it comes to education. For these children, computer based technologies can play an exceptional role. Computer technologies possess the capability to assist a broad range of educational activities directed at fulfilling a variety of needs for students with learning disorders. Adaptive technologies enable even those students with severe disabilities to become active learners within the classroom alongside their peers, who might not have disabilities. Technologyà integration into educational programsà facilitates learning for students with diverse abilities across all grade bands. Computers can reinforce the variety of ways in which learners construct their own understanding by utilizing computers as resource tools, work stat ions for individual learning, or as communication channels for sharing information with other learners. Computers can be employed to assist in the creation of active experiences, besides encouraging cooperative learning and student collaboration. The incorporation of specialized featuresà into the curricula aids students with disabilities to interact with classroom technologies, as teachers are able to customize content for diverse studentsââ¬â¢ needs and preferences (Male, 2002). Technology holds immense promise for enhancing teaching practices for all students and aiding in the development of effective approaches to teaching children with sensory and learning disabilities.
